Press Release: Conservice Named to Inaugural Build 100 List for Job Creation

Cache Valley is home to one of America’s enduring job creators, Conservice Utility Management and Billing. The company, founded in 2000 by David Jenkins, currently employs over 600 team members in positions ranging from information technology and accounting to customer service and  business management. Conservice is a proud supporter of Utah State University, with 50 percent of the Conservice team being Utah State University alumni or current students. The company has created over 400 jobs in the last five years, with job growth of over 300%.

What does it take to be an enduring job creator like Conservice? The Build Network, a management enterprise within Inc magazine, sought to find that out when it was founded in 2011. The group studies sustained growth companies and helps determine some of their key similarities.

This month, the Build Network unveiled the Build 100, a business index that honors an elite tier of mid-market (85-999 employees) companies that have expanded employment in each of the last five years. Data was collected from over 100,000 US companies, and only 1.5 percent of those companies met that criteria. Of that 1.5 percent, 100 companies, including Conservice, were selected to be a part of the list.

Michelle Howa, Director of Human Resources, has been busy year after year finding qualified team members and welcoming them to the Conservice culture. “At Conservice, we strive to provide a positive work environment for our team members where new ideas are encouraged,” said HR Director Michelle Howa. “We truly value each of our team members and believe we wouldn't be where we are today without their contributions to the team.”

Placing a high value on employees is one key attribute that Conservice shares with other companies on the Build 100 list. Over 50 percent of companies on the Build 100 stated that “people/talent” and “customer service” are the only factors that they attribute to their competitive advantage and success as a company.  At Conservice, the leadership team certainly feels like that is the case.

“It’s an honor to be recognized for creating jobs and rebuilding the economy,” said CEO and Conservice founder Dave Jenkins. “Our continued growth has allowed me see many new team members enter Conservice and quickly become leaders within the company. We wouldn't be where we are today without a strong, talented team.”

Conservice shares the honor being placed on the Build 100 list with two other Utah companies, Cariloha, based in Sandy, and England Logistics of Salt Lake City.
