The utility experts at Conservice are continually working hard to help our clients save money and reduce utility expenses. In the last month, the rates department performed a rate analysis for a nationwide property owner. Conservice found opportunities for dozens of communities to move to a more optimal provider rate schedule with at least one of their utility providers. These moves will save the company over $300,000 annually. This is on top of a $60,000 refund check already obtained after Conservice identified a utility provider that was using an incorrect rate.
This same customer, earlier this month, signed a contract with a deregulated California gas supplier via the Conservice OPTIMyZE program. This deal alone is anticipated to save the customer $100,000 annually.
The rates department performs rate audits annually for each client on our utility management (SyNERGY) program. This involves a thorough review of a portfolio’s current water, sewer, gas and electric rates that are then cross referenced against the utility rates for which each community is eligible. When better rates are found, Conservice will calculate the difference and make a recommendation to the client.
Additionally, the OPTIMyZE procurement team is able to negotiate reduced energy rates for apartment communities in deregulated markets. The team actively monitors the energy markets, seeking opportunities that maximize savings for clients in those areas.
